What are Suzaku's Instruments?

Suzaku has the following instruments

X-Ray Spectrometer (XRS) X-ray Imaging Spectrometer (XIS) Hard X-ray Detector (HXD)

This is an X-ray microcalorimeter that provides high-resolution spectroscopy by measuring X-rays with an energy range from 0.3 to 10 kilo-electron volts (keV). This instrument is made up of four identical units which capture X-ray images of astronomical objects. It measures X-rays with an energy range from 0.2 to 12 kilo-electron volts (keV). This instrument measures high-energy X-rays above 10 kilo-electron volts (keV), up to 700 kilo-electron volts.

Suzaku also has five X-ray Telescopes (XRTs). X-ray telescopes collect and focus X-rays, which the instruments behind the X-ray telescopes detect and analyze. One telescope will be in front of the X-ray Spectrometer (XRS). The other four will be in front of the X-ray Imaging Spectrometer (XIS). The HXD does not use a telescope.
